If you consider your pet as a family member, like me, read this section if your pet travels as load.
Fees and restrictions vary from airline to airline.
The goal is to be your pet free of stress before, during and after the flight. This can be done by pre-trip planning and taking into account the point of origin, transfer and destination airports:
1. Does your pet be accompanied or not?
2. What time of day you're flying?
3. How hot or cold will be at every airport you visit?

13. The USDA requires that you must provide food and water within four hours before check-in. Some airlines require a signature stating this fact.
14. Check with airlines landing and the deadline for acceptance of your pet.
15. Your dog or cat must be at least eight weeks and fully weaned before airlines allow you to fly.
16. The companies accept your pet at the registration desk and return it to the baggage hall at the airport destination.
17. Fees for pets baggage and checked baggage vary from airline to airline.
18. Follow the USDA rules when choosing a cage for your pet. The cage should be sturdy and well ventilated and large enough for your pet to stand, lie down and turn around easily. The cage must close securely without special tools or locks.
19. Check with your airline availability of kennels for a set fee.
20. Check if the State of destination (including Hawaii) have quarantine requirements for your pet.
21. Carry a leash, do not leave the kennel.
22. Do not take your animal to its cage around the airport.
23. Mark the kennel with a phone number of someone at your destination If your pet is flying unaccompanied.
24. Freezing water dish for your pet before leaving.
25. Maintain control of your inspection of all airport pets and pet screener cage.
