Has anyone done a restrictive diet and / or used IVD (Innovative Veterinary Diets) for your dog?
My dog seems to itch constantly RX pills and work only until they are gone. So is itching again. Until bites are scabs. My vet suggested a SCI-perscription food diet to help the itching. Does anyone else has done for your dog? What were the results? Thank you!
Your dog has an allergy to something in May this be a food allergy, but is more likey to be something in the environment. The idea of restrictive dieting is the elimination of all things that are common in food normal. This means there is food for dogs and humans. You must do this at least a month to determine if a food allergy or not. If not, your dog may have to remain on antihistamines year. It is sometimes difficult to find one that works for your dog just trial and error. You must use at least 2 weeks to see if it works. Some medicines are stronger in the category of p steroid prednisone, Medrol, Temaril, but not stupid. for long-term use because of side effects. I've experimented with my golden retriever and was in permanent life MEDS. Regular bathing every 2 weeks, it is helpful to an allergy to environmental allergens by washing the skin and remove excess bacteria waitng a dog itching to height. Allergy tests and vaccines are also available, but honestly success rate not so great and I havent seen many dogs for profit. Good luck, I know how this can be frustrating for you and your dog.
