What kind of things the PetSmart dog training teach my dog?
We just adopted a 1 year old minpin / Spaniel mix. It was a big dog, very playful. She does not bite or become aggressive with us (which is grrrrreat!). But never formed, and yet many "Puppy" in it. He jumps up (again and again and again, no matter how often you say "low" or "no"), barking like mad at anything and everything moves (even the neighbors who are used), and Pee / shit in the house if we leave out of his cage for long periods of time (even if she just arrived from abroad). I also walk a little better on the strap instead of doing everything possible to pull me around the block. It is that obedience training to help PetSmart with these things, or should be seeking ways to train myself?
If the dog training again (it sounds as if you are):) then you can help have someone with a bit more experience (and usually that's all gonna get PetSmart) that can help you with the basics (and do not want to basics …. sit, heel, etc.). It sounds like your dog is not getting enough market and has lots of energy. And, of course, be dragged into the street is not exactly the idea person of a good time so I'm sure its probably not very likely to come out and be dragged by a walk every day lol. Taking this as well …… everything can be aid, and taking your dog to PetSmart will not hurt .. but do not expect miricle, especially behavior problems. You can get almost the same, taking a discount or free training manual. Although socialization by going to a group is great for any dog that can contribute to the Doggie aggression (towards other dogs) and the road. If you get the National Geographic Channel, it is useful to check the Dog Whisperer Friday night (which is running a week-long special rights now, so it will be tonight at 8 pm Central Time …. and all the rest of the week. Or you can get your movies off eBay. Check a look at their website: http://www.cesarmillaninc.com There are also some other coaches there that deal with basic obedience, Barbra Woodhouse is an old if you encounter one of their VHS. If you want a little advanced training you can check David Dikeman – Command Performance but this is a dedicated owner who is willing to spend a lot of time in the dog. Meanwhile, here are some simple tips to help some of the problems you mentioned: the heel: A pair of options here, I would try this first – when your dog starts to walk before turning and walking the other direction and continue for at least 20 steps or more. You go to do more to turn up lol catch your dog, but she'll get the idea that there should be at your side and you look for what is not captured by the strap. Or you can buy Haltihead necklace (I recommend this over the neck of the Gentle Leader) resembles the Halti harness a horse and running on the same principle, when the head goes the body must follow, and maintaining a dog traction. You can order anywhere you take them to Petsmart May, or you can leave any catalog company, or outside of eBay. Rob: First, if your dog papertraining, STOP. That's the worst that any owner can always teaches the dog that is going to the bathroom at home. Instead, give small dog frequent trips, especially pan 10-20 min. after any food / water consumption. And do not feed or offer water near the time when bedtime. Many homeowners make the mistake of letting the water dish every night, you do not need to drink all night and not your dog. Unless you catch him in the act, you can not blame him do his business on the carpet, just clean and go (be sure to clean and return to the smell, white viniger works very well for this, or you can buy products special cleaning to get rid of odor, soap and water will not cut it). If you take to give a firm, but not a resounding "no" (not the highest in May and scare to empty the bladder but more) Also, using cash when you can not supervise their correct use of dogs have no problem staying in a box. But if you do follow this path "factual issue" as it goes, and keep your trade even if she complains or cries a little. If you return to when she complains, or if you are a long sigh: "Mommy will be back" type of things, this separation can cause anxiety in the future …. and once started, is a bear to get rid of him. LEAP: A dog that jumps on you can show exuberant puppy, usually also say it's the boss here. But, being a breed of dog small bet that when someone wants to pat, pat their legs so you can jump. If so, who stroked the dog is praised for jumping. And she does not expect to think it's okay to jump in and say hello sometime, and then when your on your business suit and full of mud …. it is perfectly fine to jump and say hello. If teach sit, you can say "ok" (jump up and say hello) and "sit" (Get Off Me & SIT). But for now, I suggest you not allow jump and if you do, step in raising his son and a little knee (that strengthen its balance) and say NO Like You Mean It (not "no" or "noooooo" or "no no no no no" lol) Barking: minpin Barkers are large enough, and she does what comes naturally. However, this does not mean you should allow a 24 / 7 alarm system. It is a very active breed, even if it's a mixture. If you walk her 30 min. twice a day (and do not want to walk, not to drag block, if it takes is the boss, and if she is head abroad, who is the head inside as well). The walks are to dispose of your excess energy. If he does bark at inappropriate times (to children, other dogs, mailman, etc) give a strong company NO. If you spend much time in the crate when your workplace (or even locked in a patio or indoors for that matter) that is only reasonable to have plenty of energy and this will help:) I hope this helps.
