The Sports Group includes pointers, setters, retrievers and many spaniels. This group of fairly active dogs is composed of a variety of breeds, which have been developed to help hunters in the search, download and retrieve game. Members of this group all need a considerable amount of exercise, but should not be a hunter to own one of these dogs. Many breeds in this group are generally very good with children and include: English Setter, Golden Retriever, Labrador Retriever, Welsh Springer Spaniel, Cocker English Spaniel, and Flat Coated Retriever.
